What is God Doing in Guatemala?

Last Sunday was really great - we had such good Indian food from a place in Antigua. The rain has been pretty heavy the past few weeks, and especially this one, we have truly enjoyed it though. For the 4th, we were provided an American dinner even with Ice cream too! We also had lychee this week! This week I have truly felt the most grateful to be where I am in life - in Guatemala, growing spiritually, mentally and just on such a fruitful path. Jesus is so kind and generous and he truly does love us so so much.

Yesterday the kids in our ministry had their soccer tournament which turned out great! We were a little bummed because we weren’t allowed to go but they looked like they had such a great time - they took 2nd place.

Prayer requests:

  • Health: My blood sugars for my diabetes have been really high this week. I would like to ask the Lord to just step into this and protect my body as I am trying my best with delivering enough insulin and eating the right foods.

  • That we finish these next two weeks strong (not sick) and able to just soak up and learn as much as possible while being here. Also that we get to continue to help our ministry and encourage them with whatever they may need.

  • Donations: that people would have enough money to eat food and buy clean water and specifically for our ministry and the volunteers that work for them as their entire salary is solely based on fundraising.

Here is one of the volunteers we work with every single day: his name is Alex and he helps with many different things throughout the week. On Mondays he leads house visits with us & teaches English lessons in the afternoon. Tuesdays he leads house visits again with a different house (usually ATL) and does VBS with the kids in the afternoon. Wednesdays he comes to support the women’s group in the afternoon and on Thursdays he usually plays the piano for worship night in a coffee shop called Serve Hope in Antigua. Friday’s he is the coach for the U-16 boys soccer team and also helps with the younger kids in the afternoon. Sundays he is in his church playing the piano or the base guitar usually. As you can tell, Alex is a valuable asset to many teams and throughout his community. He shows up every single day, not making anything except a difference in these kids’s lives in San Antonio Aguas Calientes. I would highly recommend you pray about supporting him in some sort of way as he is a faithful man of God, fulfilling his purpose with which the Lord has blessed him in.

Thanks so much for reading, I’ll update y’all more with the following weeks to come!

God bless
